As part of my pandemic coping, I started upgrading a PC I'd had for a few years. I'd been interested in working on a homelab for a while, and when I accidentally bought a case that was way too large - a Fractal Design Define 7 - I began to think about expanding that machine instead of going to a rack.

It wasn't all clear sailing (I hit some snags that I couldn't see a way through other than replacing a bunch of components), but I tried to record the steps I took and challenges I faced.

Overall I made 19 things in June.

One of the initial reasons to move to 11ty was to add responsive images. Many of the original images were huge, and I wanted to generate (and serve!) appropriate resolutions.

As a side effect, I thought that it might trim out some sensitive metadata like GPS locations. At some point I realized that many of the full-size originals I was serving might still contain GPS information.

But, this should be something that I could validate to ensure it doesn't happen by accident. Let's try!
